Wallace Print expands with acquisition of GWD point of sale division

Wallace has taken on the goodwill, existing contracts and customer contacts, enabling GWD to concentrate on its growing presentation packaging sector. The Rochester, Kent-based business has also acquired the POS stock, which it was already printing for GWD.

Gary Wallace, managing director at Wallace Print Group, told PrintWeek: “Now that we have this as a branded service we want to introduce other products. We are now getting the full benefit, rather than supplying another company.”

The new business will initially increase Wallace Print Group’s turnover by £250,000, but Wallace added that this should reach £500,000 next year, on top of the company’s existing £2m turnover. And, Wallace Print also said that the acquisition would improve his employees wage packets as well.

He said: “A massive bonus is that this production fits inside our existing employees’ working week but generates overtime for them with the rapid exponential growth of this business. “Every product is printed and cad cut in house with a separate team on standby ready to take care of the fulfilment and overnight deliveries to anywhere.”wallaceprint_about_banner-1024x512 Wallace Print expands with acquisition of GWD point of sale division

Conclusion

Wallace has visited a number of customers already and said he was “shocked” by the positive reaction so far. He added: “Next on the agenda is to target the retail sector and concentrate on the task of creating a full-on specific website; we have already begun this process.”

Financial details of the deal not disclosed.
